Project description

These clients wanted to build a smaller home so that maintenance and upkeep were not a problem. Also, they wanted to consider Aging-In-Place so we needed to keep the amenities on first floor. But the lot selected has a large grade change from the front to the rear.

This grade difference was an interesting monkey to wrestle during the design phase. It did require a full, walk-out basement.

The home is a 1 1/2 story wood structure with a full basement. The master suite and a guest bedroom are on first floor, with a loft and third bedroom on the second floor.

There is a beautiful view to the rear of the house, and we maximized that view with many windows on the rear elevation.

On the outside, there is a reasonable deck, with stairs that lead to an inviting patio.

The kitchen is gorgeous….better than I had ever imagined and the baths are equally beautiful….everyone loves my “grand piano island”….and the way you framed the trees in the windows…each season they change and look great…this morning it was a dusting of snow on the branches…pretty picture!
